DRESSING MATTER
“Objects, much like people, dress to become themselves.”
To dress is a way of expressing who we are, and objects too can carry this dimension.
Patterns, clothing and adornments are a subtle language through which cultures, rituals and emotions become visible. Certain fabrics signal belonging, certain details hold memory, certain patterns carry entire geographies.

Objects, much like people, dress to become themselves. Everything begins with an initial volume, where matter exists before any narrative. A naked presence, an essential body, establishing its weight, its scale and its posture in space. It is on the surface of the skin that the body begins to become language. The surface as a territory of expression: lines that repeat, fragments that multiply, gestures that evoke textiles, weaves or embroidery. Like a skin that dresses itself. To dress is a way of expressing who we are, and objects too can carry this dimension.
Patterns, clothing and adornments are a subtle language through which cultures, rituals and emotions become visible. Certain fabrics signal belonging, certain details hold memory, certain patterns carry entire geographies. I do not seek perfection, the interest lies instead in the tension between structure and spontaneity, between rigour and imperfection, between gesture and matter. Each piece slowly finds its own personality and beauty within its own imperfection. Just as in the way we present ourselves to the world, identity is never a single layer, but a construction made of overlaps, choices and small accumulated stories.
”As with people, a small gesture, an accessory, an unexpected choice can reveal something deeply personal about the one who wears it.”
